History
L'objectif du Centre est de promouvoir l’excellence dans la recherche et l’enseignement supérieur, dans les domaines de l’économie, de l’économétrie et des statistiques.
Inauguré en 1991 sous le nom de European Center for Advanced Research in Economics (ECARE), il nait d'une initiative entre l'Institut d'Etudes européennes (IEE) de l'ULB et du Center for Economic Policy Research (CEPR). En 1999, il fusionne avec le Centre d'Economie Mathématique et d'Econométrie (CEME) et avec la collaboration avec des statisticiens de l'Institut de Statistique et de Recherche Opérationnelle (ISRO) et prendra le nom d'ECARES.
